I'm not even going to try and argue. Most bases are made from someone else's art, if you didn't know. It doesn't matter if it's from a pricey artbook or not. If you're so against bases, maybe point that out not on a used base? Or on a base? Because noone's going to listen.

By saying what you say, I wonder if you'd read the DeviantArt policy about copyrighted works and fanart (I know, it's not a fanart, but those two FAQ go with one another and it's better to read both). For me it's not thievery, yet lack of knowledge that leads to ignorance.
The worst thing is that ignorance which comes from author of that base as well as the user of it (meaning *Softfang here, but as well as other users) who does nothing to care for the originality and the rules. If *Softfang would do something about that deviation, I'd be glad. It's a bit sad to see people going "white knight" about a thing that's not even theirs.
